WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's basketball team is pleased to announce its participation in the 2018 Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge throughout the month of February to help raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Fans can donate a certain amount of money to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund for every free throw the Colonials make in the month of February. Immediate flat donations will also be accepted and are not contingent upon the number of free throws made.

GW will continue its support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund when it hosts its annual #Play4Kay Pink Game on February 14 against Massachusetts at the Charles E. Smith Center. The Colonials will be wearing pink socks and headbands in an effort to raise awareness for the ongoing initiative.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund's mission is to extend and improve the lives of those who are battling cancer while raising money for research and assisting the underserved. The Play4Kay initiative is Kay Yow Cancer Fund's largest fundraiser and plays a major role in uniting players, coaches and fans to do something for the greater good that far exceeds wins and losses on the court.
