WASHINGTON, DC - Former George Washington women's basketball standout Jessica Adair ('09) has re-signed with the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx, the franchise announced Tuesday.

Adair, who spent a majority of 2010 training camp with the Lynx after being drafted 34th overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2009 WNBA Draft, signed with Minnesota last August 18 and totaled five points and eight rebounds in 14 minutes in the team's regular-season finale at Indiana four days later.

Currently playing in Turkey for Samsun, Adair ranks second in the Turkish League in rebounds per game (10.5 rpg), fifth in blocked shots per game (1.13 bpg) and 14th in scoring (13.9 ppg) through 15 games played. She is one of just two players currently averaging a point/rebound double-double in league play.

Adair, an Anacostia High School graduate, earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in each of her final three seasons at GW, becoming the 10th player in league history to earn the award at least three times. She ranks 11th on GW's career scoring list with 1,475 points, seventh in career rebounds (770) and fifth in career blocks (161), joining other standouts Tajama (Abraham) Ngongba, Ugo Oha and Kas Allen as the only Colonials to have at least 1,400 points, 700 rebounds and 100 blocks in their careers.

Minnesota tips off the 2011 season in California against the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday, June 3. The Lynx are scheduled to face Adair's hometown Washington Mystics on Thursday, August 18, at Verizon Center at 6:00 pm.
