Women's Basketball Versus Richmond Postponed Indefinitely
Atlantic 10 Game Will Be Made Up at Date To Be Determined
Feb. 9, 2010
WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's basketball team's game against Richmond rescheduled for Thursday at 7:00 pm at Charles E. Smith Center has been postponed indefinitely due to the inclement weather conditions in the Washington Metro area.
The Atlantic 10 Conference game was originally scheduled for Wednesday at 7:00 pm, but was postponed until Thursday at 7:00 pm in light of the winter storm slated to hit the DC Metro area Tuesday and Wednesday.
The contest will be made up at date to be determined prior to the start of the A-10 Championship in Upper Marlboro, MD, March 5-8.
The DC Metro area has been hit with record snowfall the past six days, making travel for teams, officials and game management personnel unsafe.
This is the second women's basketball home game to be affected by winter weather this season. GW's non-conference game against Mount St. Mary's scheduled for Dec. 20 was cancelled due to inclement weather.
