LOS ANGELES, CA - The fifth-seeded No. 14/13 GW women's basketball team will face fourth-seeded No. 16/15 Texas A&M in second round NCAA Tournament action at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, CA, on Monday, March 19, at 8:07 pm EDT. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and the ESPN Family of Networks.
Monday's showdown for a bid to the Sweet 16 will pit two old coaching buddies in GW's Joe McKeown and Texas A&M's Gary Blair. The two have been close friends since their assistant coaching days early in the 1980's and often plan recruiting trips around their respective schedules. McKeown and Blair travelled to Augusta, GA, last summer to enjoy the 2006 Masters Golf Tournament and also attended last year's Final Four in Boston.
McKeown holds a 2-1 edge against his long-time friend, leading GW to victories over Blair-led Arkansas teams in 1998 and 1999, while Blair's Stephen F. Austin squad beat McKeown's New Mexico State team in the late 1980's. Both coaches have 481 career victories.
GW (27-3) is coming off a 76-67 victory over 12th-seeded Boise State in the first round on Saturday. Sophomore Jessica Adair scored 15 points and grabbed 21 rebounds, tying the fourth-most boards in NCAA Tournament history and most since North Carolina's Charlotte Smith posted 23 in the 1994 National Championship game.

Danielle Gant led TAMU with a 24-point, 14-rebound double-double against the Mavericks.
