Dates Set for GW Women's Basketball Summer Camps
Colonials to Host Team Camp and Day Camp
April 2, 2013
WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's basketball team will host a pair of camps on the GW campus this summer. The team camp is set for June 15-16, and the day camp will take place July 15-19.
The GW Women's Basketball Team Camp for girls entering ninth through 12th grade is designed to allow girls' high school and AAU teams to receive top-level Division I instruction and compete against each other as they prepare for future competition.
Each team is guaranteed four games at a cost of $350 per team. Each player will receive a T-shirt, but teams are responsible for their own housing and meals.
The GW Women's Basketball Day Camp is open to all children as young as five years old through those entering ninth grade in Fall 2013. The camp will run from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day and will include two focus concepts per day, as well as offensive and defensive stations and 5-on-5 games. Instruction will be provided by the GW coaching staff and players. Campers will also have an opportunity for lighter games, including knockout and dribble tag, and will get a break for swimming, as well.
The cost of the day camp is $250 per camper, or $200 for GW faculty and staff. Each player will receive a T-shirt, and campers should bring athletic clothes, a water bottle, lunch and a snack each day.
