Women's Basketball Adds Christina Richardson to Staff

July 7, 2017

WASHINGTON - George Washington women's basketball head coach Jennifer Rizzotti has announced the addition of Christina Richardson to the Colonials' staff as the Director of Operations.

Richardson carries substantial postseason and championship experience into her new role after serving as a graduate assistant for the past two seasons at Mississippi State.

While with the Bulldogs, Richardson assisted in the daily operations of the team which recorded a historic upset over Connecticut in this past year's Final Four. In her first season with Mississippi State, the Bulldogs advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

"We are so fortunate to have someone with Christina's background join our staff as the Director of Basketball Operations," said Rizzotti. "She's been training for this job since her undergraduate days as a manager with Texas A&M and is most recently coming off a Final Four appearance with Mississippi State. She comes highly recommended by some of the best in the business and her knowledge and work ethic will be a great complement to our staff. I am happy to welcome her into the GW family."

"I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to join Coach Rizzotti and her staff at George Washington," said Richardson. "This program has a tradition of success and the expectations for women's basketball at GW remain high. I am very excited to help Coach Rizzotti, the rest of the staff and the student-athletes to work every day to exceed those expectations."

Prior to her stint at Mississippi State, Richardson served in the same capacity at Siena College (2014-15) and as a student manger and intern at Texas A&M (2011-14), playing a part in the Aggies' National Championship run in 2011 as well as four trips to the NCAA Tournament and the 2013 SEC Tournament Championship.

She graduated from Texas A&M in 2014 with a B.S. in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration.
