WASHINGTON, DC - Hadley Zeavin, former video coordinator for the WNBA's Detroit Shock, has been named Director of Operations for the George Washington women's basketball program, head coach Mike Bozeman has announced.
"Hadley is a great addition to our staff," said Bozeman. "She has gained operations experience both in the WNBA and at a premier Division I women's basketball program and we look forward to her helping us do great things at GW."
Zeavin's (pronounced `zee-vin') responsibilities will include team travel logistics, equipment management, film exchange, and game and practice scheduling. She also will assist with recruiting, practice planning and team scouting.
Zeavin spent the last two seasons as video coordinator with the Shock, including a 2006 campaign in which the franchise won its second WNBA Championship. Zeavin handled film exchange, assisted with scouting and performed operations duties such as opponent travel and scheduling of road practices and shootarounds.
Zeavin spent four seasons as an undergraduate team manager with Vanderbilt's women's basketball program from 2003-07, including serving as the team's head manager during the 2006-07 season. The Commodores posted a 99-33 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of Zeavin's four seasons, highlighted by back-to-back Sweet 16 bids in 2004 and 2005. She received her bachelor's degree in sociology and women's and gender studies from Vanderbilt in 2007.
Zeavin spent the 2007-08 academic year as an intern and tutor with The Ohio State University's Student-Athlete Support Services Office while completing her master's degree in sport and exercise management at the school.
