Women's Hoops Adds Walk-On Taylor Campbell

Sept. 7, 2017

WASHINGTON - George Washington women's basketball coach Jennifer Rizzotti has announced that senior guard Taylor Campbell has been added to the Colonials' roster as a walk-on. Campbell is a transfer from Lehigh University and is immediately eligible to compete for the 2017-18 season.

Campbell, a native of Chesterfield, Missouri, appeared in 56 games over three seasons at Lehigh, where she played with former Colonial Lexi Martins for two years.

Campbell's junior season was cut short by injury after just 15 games. At the time, the guard was averaging career bests of 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. In total, she averaged 2.2 points and 1.1 rebound across 56 career games.

"We are excited with the addition of Taylor to our roster," said Rizzotti. "She brings positive energy to every situation she is in. Coming off her injury, she also adds a determination and drive to compete to every workout. She comes with three years of college basketball experience and understands the commitment and work that she needs to put in to be successful. I am certain that she will add to the culture and identity we are trying to create with this year's team."

Campbell is pursuing her Master of Arts in Security Policy Studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs.

She graduated as Marquette High School's all-time leading scorer with 1,831 points and career leader in steals with 391. She was a four-time All-State Honoree as well as the Suburban West All-Conference Player of the Year as a senior. She also served as team captain for three years.
