Women's Basketball to Host Meet the Colonials Oct. 31

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington women's basketball team will welcome students and fans to Meet the Colonials at an open practice session at Charles E. Smith Center Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Admission is free for the event, which will offer fans an up-close look at the 2009-10 Colonials women's basketball team featuring returning starters Tara Booker and Tiana Myers, as well as the Atlantic 10's top recruiting class according to ESPN HoopGurlz. Doors will open for practice at 9:00 am, with the Meet the Colonials session and Q & A with second-year head coach Mike Bozeman to begin at 11:15 am.

For those interested in attending, please RSVP to Devin McCalla, Director of Promotions, by Oct. 26 at dmccalla@gwu.edu or 202-994-7325. Fans attending the event will enter through the Smith Center box office entrance on 22nd Street between F and G Sts.

GW will host 13 games at newly renovated Charles E. Smith Center and face 14 teams that qualified for postseason play last season as part of its 2009-10 schedule. Key home games include Western Kentucky on Dec. 28, Rutgers on Dec. 30 and Xavier on Feb. 3, while the road schedule is highlighted by the Junkanoo Jam on Grand Bahama Island in late November, trips to Tennessee and Auburn in December and the regular-season finale at Temple on Feb. 27.
