Women's Basketball Tips Off 2008-09 Season With DT3 Wednesday Night

Nov. 4, 2008

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington women's basketball team hits the Charles E. Smith Center hardwood Wednesday night at 7:30 pm for an exhibition match-up against DT3 All-Stars, a touring team of former collegiate standouts.

Fans can follow live stats via GameTracker or can watch live video streaming by subscribing to GW All-Access.

Wednesday's preseason tune-up provides fans the first opportunity to see first-year head coach Mike Bozeman's new-look Colonials, who received seven points in the Associated Press preseason Top 25 released last weekend.

GW returns two starters -- seniors Jessica Adair and Antelia Parrish -- and eight letterwinners from last year's 27-7 team that reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season. The Colonials were chosen to finish second -- behind two-time defending conference champion Xavier -- in the preseason Atlantic 10 poll after sharing the 2008 regular-season title with Temple.

DT3's roster consists of several former collegiate players with ties to the DC Metro area and Bozeman. Kalika France (Purdue '08) and Crystal Washington (Maryland '04) both played for Bozeman during his tenure at Bishop McNamara High School. Deanna Price (Elizabeth City State '06) attended Anacostia High, the alma mater of GW seniors Jessica Adair and Jazmine Adair and Dawn Chriss (Virginia Tech '06) starred at St. John's College High in Northwest DC.

GW officially opens the 2008-09 season by hosting Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2:00 pm. This year's schedule features 17 home dates and 13 opponents that qualified for postseason play last season, including two-time defending national champion Tennessee Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 pm.

Season tickets can be purchased by contacting the GW Athletics Ticket Office at 202-994-6050 or by email to gwcoltix@gwu.edu.
