REWIND: GW is coming off the 21st 20-win season in program history last year in its first season under head coach Jennifer Rizzotti. The Colonials finished with a 20-10 record and a 13-3 mark in the Atlantic 10 to earn a share of the regular season championship. It marked the third consecutive season with at least a share of the regular season title and the 16th time in program history the Colonials have accomplished the feat.

GW also made its 22nd postseason of the last 27 seasons with an appearance in the WNIT.

OLD & NEW FACES: Six newcomers join six returning letterwinners on the roster for this season. Seniors Brianna Cummings, Kelli Prange and Camila Tapias are joined by juniors Mei-Lyn Bautista and Kelsi Mahoney and sophomore Kendall Bresee to provide a solid core of experienced players.

Senior guard Taylor Campbell joins the team as a transfer from Lehigh University along with a trio of heralded freshman in Lexus Levy, Chyna Latimer and Neila Luma.

A pair of transfers in Olivia Gumbs (Lafayatte) and Sarah Overcash (Illinois) round out the roster. Overcash will sit out this season per NCAA requirements and have three seasons of eligibility remaining starting in 2018-19.

HOME SWEET HOME: When GW makes its home debut on Sunday against South Dakota State it will be with one of the finest home-court advantages in the nation.

GW has won 36 of its last 41 games played at the Charles E. Smith Center since November 24, 2014. The Colonials are also 58-13 (.817) at home since the beginning of the 2012-13 season including 11-3 last season, 12-2 in 2015-16, 14-1 in 2014-15 and 15-3 in 2013-14.

PRESEASON PICKS: The Colonials were picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Coaches Poll while Cummings earned a spot on the Preseason All-Defensive Team.
