WASHINGTON, DC - For Hunger Week this year, the GW Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) is teaming up with Tonic Restaurant and Campus Fresh to help local families this holiday season. On Monday, Nov. 17, the Women's Basketball game vs. Coppin State and the Wednesday, Nov 19 Men's Basketball game vs. Binghamton, athletic teams at The George Washington University will collect canned goods in exchange for raffle tickets. At halftime a $50 gift certificate will be raffled off at each game for Tonic Restaurant. The more you donate the more tickets and chances you have to win.
Next week is Hunger Week and the GW student-athletes hope to see you at the games dedicated to alleviate hunger this Thanksgiving with bags filled with canned goods. Be sure to hang onto your raffle ticket and your kindness can pay off with a $50 gift certificate to Tonic Restaurant or a BONUS $25 gift certificate for Campus Fresh (only for the men's game) announced at halftime.
For each canned food donation one raffle ticket will be given. SAAC would like to thank all of you who choose to contribute.
