ATHENS, OH - The George Washington women's basketball team begins a five-game road swing with its first-ever meeting against Ohio Sunday at 2:00 pm. The game is also just the Colonials' third against a Mid-American Conference (MAC) opponent, having beaten Bowling Green in 1998 and Central Michigan in 1999, both at neutral sites.

GW is off to a 2-0 start for the fourth straight season, but has posted come-from-behind victories in distinct fashion in its first two games:

In the season-opening win at North Texas, GW held the lead for only 2:25 the entire game, rallying late for an 84-82 victory behind freshman Shi-Heria Shipp's game-winning tip-in with 3.3 seconds left and sophomore Sara Mostafa's 17-point, 11-rebound, eight-block effort.
In Thursday's home victory over Coppin State, GW led for all but 4:30 of the game, but overcame the Eagles' rally from a 14-point deficit for an 68-64 triumph. Sophomore Tiana Myers set a new career-high with 18 points, followed by 14 points, seven boards and four blocks from Mostafa. GW outscored CSU, 18-0, in fast-break points.

After Sunday's game at Ohio, the Colonials will spend the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday on the road, traveling to the Bahamas for the Junkanoo Jam against Michigan State and either Oklahoma State or Marist on Nov. 27 & 28, before continuing on to perennial power Tennessee on Dec. 1. All four teams during that week-long trip are either nationally ranked or receiving votes in the Top 25. GW wraps the five-game road swing at last year's SEC champion Auburn, which is receiving votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Top 25, on Dec. 5.

Ohio (0-2) seeks its first victory after losses to Cleveland State, 56-34, and Navy, 55-51, to open its season. The Bobcats have struggled offensively, converting just 33-of-109 field goals (30.3 percent) while committing 43 turnovers in the two outings. Ohio has had greater success on the defensive side, limiting its two opponents to just 36.5 percent shooting. Last season, Ohio led the Mid-American Conference in both field goal shooting (.441) and field goal percentage defense (.391), but gave the ball away a league-high 20.5 times per game.

Da'Keisha Mann led all scorers with 15 points against Navy, while Kamille Buckner added 10. Mann and Buckner are the only Bobcats to reach double-digit scoring in two games. Mann leads the team in scoring at 9.5 points per game.

Ohio, coming off a 13-18 season, was picked to finish fifth (out of six teams) in the MAC East Division this year.

Semeka Randall is in her second year as head coach at Ohio after spending a combined six years as an assistant at West Virginia, Michigan State and Cleveland State. While with the Spartans, Randall reached the national championship game in 2005 and Sweet 16 in 2006. A three-time All-American at Tennessee, Randall ranks sixth all-time in scoring for the Lady Volunteers with 1,915 career points. She helped UT to a national championship in 1998.
