WASHINGTON - Graduate student Brooke Wilson suffered a season-ending knee injury that will sideline her for the rest of the 2012-13 campaign, head coach Jonathan Tsipis announced.

"I feel for Brooke," said Tsipis. "She had been such a strong force for us, not only with her play on the floor, but with her leadership as one of our fifth-year seniors and her willingness to buy into the direction the program is going. You never want to see a player get hurt, but this leads to an opportunity for other players to get more time on the court. The team has responded well to what we have asked them to do to get better each and every day."

Wilson suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in her right knee early in the second half at Virginia Tech on Nov. 25.

GW returns to action on Saturday when it visits District rival American University.
