Tara Booker had quite an afternoon against Howard on Saturday. The graduate student became the 27th member of GW's 1,000 -point club late in the second half, then won the game on a four-point play with six seconds left. With GW trailing 60-57, Booker sank a three-pointer from the wing to tie the game and was fouled, then calmly sank the game-winning free throw. She finished with 18 points and nine rebounds in the game, scoring nine points during GW's 19-5 game-ending run to complete a 13-point comeback.
Earlier in the week, Booker recorded 11 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks in a hard-fought loss to SEC foe Auburn, and she averaged team highs of 14.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 2.0 bpg in the two contests.
The Galloway, N.J., native now has 1,007 points and 655 rebounds in her career, just the 10th Colonial ever with 1,000 points and 600 rebounds. She leads GW with 10.5 ppg this season.
