NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - George Washington plays its first game away from Charles E. Smith Center in 36 days to face No. 15/14 Rutgers at the RAC in New Brunswick, NJ, Monday night at 7:30 pm. The Colonials won five of their program-record seven straight home games and will look for their first road victory of the season in their first visit to the RAC since 2002.

Mondayʼs contest marks the third meeting between the former Atlantic 10 Conference foes in just over a calendar year. The Scarlet Knights won both match-ups last season, snapping the Colonialsʼ 15-game home winning streak last November and knocking GW out the NCAA Tournament in the Greensboro Regional Semifinals last March. GWʼs lone victory at the RAC came on March 6, 1993, an 85-62 rout in the final regular season league game of that season. The Colonials have since lost their last four games at the RAC. GWʼs best regular-season victory came against No. 7/7 Rutgers, 63-58, at Smith Center on Dec. 4, 1999.

GW surrendered a season-best 35 points and limited Loyola (MD) to 24 percent shooting en route to a 53-35 victory to cap its seven-game homestand Dec. 27. Senior Jessica Adair (13p/12r) and redshirt sophomore Ivy Abiona (10p/12r) both posted double-doubles and freshman Tiana Myers (11p) and senior Yolanda Lavender (10p) also reached double-digit scoring as the Colonials closed the game on a 17-3 run and held the Greyhounds to one field goal the final 7:18. Adairʼs double-double was her first of the season and 13th of her career, while Abiona accomplished the first for the first time.

No. 15/14 Rutgers plays its first game in 10 days following a 61-29 victory over Lafayette Dec. 19, its fifth consecutive victory overall and 19th straight at the RAC, the sixth-longest home streak in the nation. The Scarlet Knights held the Leopards to just 10 field goals and 26 percent shooting and Epiphanny Prince (23p) and Kia Vaughn (13p) combined for 36 points on 16-of-27 shooting in the victory.

Rutgers, which entered the week with the nationʼs ninth best scoring defense (50.9 ppg) has held four opponents to less than 40 points this season and has limited teams to 33.5 points its last two games and 39.3 points its last four outings. Prince ranks 39th in the country in scoring at 18.0 points per game and is in the Top 62 in the nation in steals (2.6 spg, 62nd) and free-throw percentage (85.4%, 53rd).
