GW Scores Season-High at West Virginia

Morgantown, WV - The George Washington Gymnastics team scored a season-high 191.375 but finished fourth in a five-team meet at fellow East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) member West Virginia on Saturday night. Penn State won the meet with 195.625, West Virginia followed in second with 194.625 and Kent State took third with 192.275.

Christa Devine, Jess Guilbert, and Maggie Parrack all scored a 9.75 on the day which was the best performance for GW on the day.

Devine notched a career-high 9.75 on the balance beam to finish seventh on the event, the best finish for any individual Colonial on the night.

Guilbert and Parrack tied for ninth on the floor exercise with their 9.75 performances. Both were solid in other events while Jess scored a 9.7 on the vault and Parrack notching a 9.625 on the bars.

McKenzie Parrack, Gillian Coleman, and Carolyn Marckesano were all very consistent in each of their three events on the night. McKenzie scored a 9.675 on both the bars and floor exercise and a 9.475 on the vault. Coleman and Marckesano both scored at least a 9.5 in all of their respective events.

GW is back in action on Thursday night when they travel to the College Park to go head-to-head with fellow EAGL member Maryland.
