KENT, OH - Despite a season-best 193.125 points, the George Washington University gymnastics team fell to Kent State Friday night at the Golden Flashes' MAC Center. The Golden Flashes recorded a season-high of their own, 195.600.

Senior McKenzie Parrack had a career night, recording 29.350 points in her three events. The tri-captain out of Richardson, TX, just outside of Dallas, set seasonal-bests in all of her events: vault (9.850), bars (9.775) and floor (9.725). Her 9.850 on vault is the highest mark for any Colonial, on any event this season.

The Colonials got 12 individual season highs on the night, including the three by Parrack.

Freshman Leslie Delima was the lone all-arounder for either team and recorded a 38.400. Delima scored a 9.675 on vault, 9.600 on bars, 9.350 on beam, and 9.775 on floor. Her scores on vault and floor are personal bests this season.

Junior Kristen Simpson was solid as always on her speciality event with a 9.750, while sophomore Christa Devine posted a 9.675. The team's score of 48.525 on the apparatus is also a new season high.

GW defeated Kent State on bars with a new season-high 48.450. Devine took second to Parrack on the event with a 9.700. Sophomore Megan Quinn and junior Bree Plotsker set new season marks with a 9.675 and 9.650, respectively. Senior Gillian Coleman's streak of four straight 9.7's on bars came to an end when the Boston, MA, native posted a 9.650.

Devine and sophomore Lindsay Tom led GW on beam with new season marks of 9.750 and 9.725, respectively. The Colonials struggled on beam as Delima, Quinn, and Plotsker all recorded 9.350's en route to a 47.525 team finish.

Five gymnasts recorded season-highs on floor exercise to score 48.625 points. Megan Quinn went above season marks, and recorded a new career best 9.800. The sophomore from Syrcause's 9.800 is her best mark on any event in her career. Senior Carolyn Marckesano tied with Delima for second on GW with a 9.775. Plotsker rounded out the scoring with a 9.550.

The Colonials end their four-meet road trip at Maryland, Friday, February 15 at 7:00 pm, before returning home to face East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) rival, Pittsburgh Sunday, February 24 at 1:00 pm.
