GW Gymnastics Sets Season-High Score at Maryland Quad Meet

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The George Washington gymnastics team posted a season-high team score of 194.825, including a season-high mark on floor exercise, as the Colonials finished in fourth place at Maryland's quad meet on Friday night at Comcast Center.
The host Terrapins won the event with a score of 195.600, followed by Bridgeport (195.200) and Pittsburgh (194.875).
The Colonials posted a season-high score of 49.100 on the floor exercise and tied their best marks of the season on vault (48.650) and uneven bars (48.675). They added a 48.400 on balance beam.
Junior Betsy Zander placed fourth in the all-around, breaking the 39.000 barrier for the second time this season. The Millersville, Md., native scored 39.075 in the all-around with 9.750 on vault (t-13th), 9.800 on uneven bars (t-4th), 9.725 on balance beam (t-8th) and 9.800 on the floor exercise (t-13th).
Willoughby also shined on floor exercise, posting a career-high 9.850 to tie for fourth place and lead the Colonials on the event. Seniors Stephanie Stoicovy and Nefertiti Roy each tied for seventh with 9.825.
Stoicovy finished fifth in the all-around with 38.825.
The Colonials are back in action on Sunday with a visit to Morgantown, West Virginia, for a quad meet with the Mountaineers, Denver and Temple. The meet will start at 2:00 p.m. at WVU Coliseum.
