GW Gymnastics Records Season-High In Loss At NC State
Feb. 27, 2011 RALEIGH, NC- For the second week in a row the George Washington gymnastics team posted a season-high score, but the Colonials were unable to overcome EAGL rival North Carolina State, falling 195.350-193.925 on Sunday afternoon at the Reynolds Coliseum. A week after posting a score of 193.050 against No. 1 Florida, West Virginia and New Hampshire the Colonials topped that mark by 0.875. Senior Leslie Delima continued her outstanding senior season by winning the all-around title with a score of 39.125. She tied for first place on the vault with a 9.775 and second place on the balance beam (9.800). She also took second place on the floor exercise (9.875) and tied for seventh on the uneven bars (9.675). Freshman Kiera Kenney tied for third place on the uneven bars with a score of 9.700 and freshman Taylor Henderson excelled on the floor exercise with a season-high score of 9.800, finishing in third overall. The Colonials will return to action on Friday evening when they travel to Lexington, KY for a tri-meet with host Kentucky and Bowling Green.
