GW Places Second at #20 Penn State Quad Meet
Delima scores career high 38.625 in all-around

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA - The George Washington University gymnastics team score 192.575 points and took second of four schools in a quad-meet at #20 Penn State Saturday night at Rec Hall. The Nittany Lions took first with 195.025, followed by GW, Bowling Green (189.800) and SUNY Cortland (183.800).
Freshman Leslie Delima finished third in the all-around with a career high 38.625. Penn State's Brandi Personett (39.175) and Alexandra Brockway (38.750) took first and second. Delima earned career highs on both the floor (9.800) and balance beam (9.750). The Virginia Beach, VA, native also scored a 9.600 on bars and 9.475 on vault. She finished third overall on beam and fifth on floor.
GW started the night on beam and earned 48.175, just .025 behind Penn State. Delima led the team while junior Bree Plotsker took second for the Colonials with a 9.725, fourth overall. Sophomores Christa Devine (9.625) and Megan Quinn (9.600) as well as junior Kristen Simpson (9.475) took third through fifth on GW on the apparatus.
Delima also led the team on floor exercise as GW accumulated 47.875 points. Quinn was second on the Colonials with a 9.750, while seniors Carolyn Marckesano (9.625), Gillian Coleman (9.575) and McKenzie Parrack (9.125) rounded out the scoring.
The third rotation, where the Colonials really excelled with a 48.500 team total was vault. Simpson continued her excellence on vault with a 9.850, which tied her for second overall. Fellow junior Erin Quigg was almost as impressive with a career-high 9.800. Parrack (9.675) and Marckesano (9.625) took third and fourth on GW, while Devine anchored the scoring with a 9.550.
Devine led the Colonials with a 9.650 in their final rotation, the uneven parallel bars. Plotsker was second on GW with a 9.625, while Quinn and Delima each earned a 9.600. Coleman was the fifth scorer for GW on the event with a 9.550.
