Colonials Record Second Straight Season-High on Senior Night

WASHINGTON, DC - The Colonials Women's Gymnastics team returned to action just 24 hours after competing at Maryland and recorded their second straight season-high team score and beat Towson by the score of 193.650-193.125. Towson finished with a team score of 193.125 in the meet. George Washington was led by junior Leslie Delima, who scored a 38.925 in the all-around. Freshman Kayla Carto finished with a career-high all-around score of 38.550 and senior Megan Quinn also scored a career-high 38.750 in the all-around of her final home meet. Sophomore Amanda Murphy was the fourth all-around performer and finished with a 38.700. The Colonials performed best on floor for the second straight day, scoring a 48.825 in the rotation and were led by Delima and Quinn, who scored 9.850 each. Delima and senior Lindsay Tom led the Colonials on balance beam with a score of 9.775 and Murphy led George Washington on bars and valut with scores of 9.725 and 9.750 respectively. Senior Danielle Parretti also had a strong final home meet, scoring a 9.750 on her floor routine and a 9.725 on the balance beam. She also competed in the vault and scored a 9.650. Towson was led in the all-around by Alise McDonald, who finished with an all-around score of 38.725. McDonald also had the highest individual score when she scored a 9.825 on floor. George Washington will return to action this Saturday, March 20 when they return to the Comcast Center and take on the Maryland Terrapins in College Park, MD.
