GW Gymnastics Scores Season-High 194.050 at EAGL Championships

Final Results

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The George Washington gymnastics team totaled a season-high score of 194.050 at the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championships on Saturday afternoon at Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Field House.

West Virginia won the meet and an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals. NC State took second place followed by Maryland. The Colonials finished in seventh place overall.

Junior Stephanie Stoicovy was named to the All-EAGL First Team on both the floor exercise and all-around at Friday's EAGL Banquet. Senior Monique Blount also garnered First-Team honors on the balance beam.

The Colonials were led by Stoicovy, who finished in seventh place in the all-around with 38.725

Freshman Courtney Willoughby, an All-EAGL Second Team selection in the all-around, scored 9.800 on vault to tie with classmate Elena Corcoran.

Corcoran was GW's top performer on both balance beam (9.725) and vault (9.800).

Senior Monique Blount led the Colonials on the floor exercise with a career-high 9.875. Stoicovy and junior Nefertiti Roy tied with 9.850 to help GW to a team score of 49.025, the Colonials' best event of the meet.

Senior Amanda Murphy joined Willoughby on the All-EAGL second team for all-around.
