PISCATAWAY, NJ - George Washington University senior co-captain Erin Aiken (Centreville, VA) placed tied for fifth on vault and junior Maggie Parrack (Richardson, TX) finished in a tie for eighth on floor to help lead the Colonials' gymnastics team to a sixth-place showing Saturday evening at the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship.
GW finished with scores of 48.775 on vault, 48.2 on bars, 47.95 on balance beam and 48.85 on floor exercise, which ranked third best among the eight teams at the competition.
Aiken turned in the Colonials' best individual performance of the evening on vault, as she scored a season-high 9.85 to finish tied for fifth in the event out of 48 gymnasts. Seniors Heather Kaufman (Austin, TX) and Amy Stack (Matthews, NC), and sophomore Carolyn Marckesano (Reston, VA) each scored a 9.75 as GW's next best finishers as all three finish tied for 20th.
Stack was the Colonials' top performer on uneven bars with a 9.725 to claim a tie for 14th, while freshman Bree Plotsker (Wantagh, NY) placed tied for 23rd with a 9.7.
On beam, senior co-captain Tiffany Jones (Ravenna, OH) turned in the Colonials' best performance with a 9.675 to earn a tie for 19th. Junior Jess Guilbert (Roswell, GA) and Plotsker were not far behind Jones, as each posted a 9.65 to share a three-way tie for 23rd.

In the all-around, Aiken had scores of 9.85 on vault, 9.65 on bars, 9.525 on beam and 9.775 on floor to finish with a total of 38.8, her second-best mark of the season, to place 10th.
