Delima Places 16th in All-Around at NCAA Southeast Regional

GAINESVILLE, FL - Freshman Leslie Delima finished 16th of 28 in the all-around at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships Friday night at the University of Florida's Stephen C. O'Connell Center. The rookie, who was making her first NCAA appearance, also finished sixth of 13 all-arounders from the East Atlantic Gymnastics League who competed.

Delima finished with an all-around total of 38.875, her second highest of the season. The native of Virginia Beach, VA, had her best performance of the night on the balance beam. With her 9.800, Delima placed 13th of 42 competitors, which was third among EAGL gymnasts, and beat out eight gymnasts from Florida, UCLA and Nebraska.

The first-team All-EAGL selection on floor also placed 18th of 42 gymnasts on the apparatus with her 9.775.

Delima placed 31st of 41 on bars with with a 9.600, and 30th of 41 on vault with a 9.700.

Junior Kristen Simpson also competed on the vault and placed 34th with a 9.625.
