Jan. 9, 2018

WASHINGTON -- George Washington gymnastics senior Cami Drouin-Allaire was named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week on Tuesday morning.

The first gymnast in program history to make a repeat trip to the NCAA Championship as an individual qualifier, Drouin-Allaire won the all-around title in the Colonials' season opener at No. 10 Kentucky's Excite Night last Friday.

The biology major finished the night with a 39.10, taking tied-for-third on vault (9.825) and floor (9.850). She rounded out her evening with a 9.725 on bars and 9.70 on beam. Drouin-Allaire earned the highest floor score (along with teammates Jillian Winstanley and Madeline Seibold) and also tallied the highest all-around score in EAGL during the first week of competition.

The recognition marks the fifth time in her career that Drouin-Allaire has garnered a weekly award from the EAGL. She won Gymnast of the Week last season after winning back-to-back all-around titles and garnered three Rookie of the Week awards and one Gymnast of the Week honor during her All-America campaign as a freshman.

GW will open the home portion of its schedule on Sunday, January 14 at 1 p.m. when it hosts Cornell, Ball State, and Pennsylvania at the Charles E. Smith Center for the 11th Annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational.
