BALTIMORE, Md. - George Washington gymnastics freshman Chelsea Raineri was named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Co-Rookie of the Week on Tuesday evening after scoring a 9.90 on vault last Friday.

It marks the first career honor for Raineri, who shares Rookie of the Week honors with Meghan Pflieger of New Hampshire.

The Telford, Pa., native recorded the second-best vault routine in program history, becoming the eighth GW gymnast to score a 9.90 on the event to tie for first place. She also found the podium on floor exercise (9.850, 2nd) and uneven bars (9.825, T-3rd) while placing fifth overall in the all-around with 38.375 against Kent State, Rutgers and Eastern Michigan.

After two weeks of competition, Raineri is tied for first in the EAGL and is 22nd in the nation with an average vault performance of 9.875. She is also tied for third in the EAGL on the floor exercise with an average of 9.850.

The Colonials return to action on February 2 when they travel to Morgantown, W.Va., to face West Virginia and Towson in a tri-meet at 1:00 p.m.
