WASHINGTON, DC - Through three meets this season George Washington gymnastics has improved each time and will look to do so again as they go head-to head with fellow East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) member, Maryland at the Comcast Center at 7:00 pm tonight. In last Saturday's meet at West Virginia, GW finished fourth with a season high 191.375 and was led by Christa Devine who scored a career-high 9.75 on the balance beam.
The Colonials will also look to rebound from last season's defeat when they fell to Maryland 192.925-191.3. Former Colonial Erin Aiken showed the way for GW placing second in the all-around competition. Then freshman, Kristen Simpson also performed well, scoring a 9.8 on the vault (second overall) and a career-high 9.725 on the balance beam, which was good for third overall.
The Colonials will also look to upset a team that finished fifth, directly above GW in last season's EAGL Championships.
George Washington will not have much recovery time after, as they will also be back in action on Sunday, November 11 at the Tar Heel Invitational. Fans can view live streaming of the event on www.accselect.com by ordering a monthly subscription, or by ordering a free trial.
