GW Gymnastics Hosts Annual Pink Meet on Monday Night
Colonials Welcome EAGL Rival North Carolina and William & Mary for Tri-Meet
Feb. 11, 2013
WASHINGTON - The George Washington gymnastics team returns home for the first time since January 13 to host their annual Pink Meet against East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) rival North Carolina and William & Mary on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center.
The Colonials are coming off their best meet of the season in which they set season-highs on the vault and balance beam while posting their highest team score (194.750) since the 2009 season.
Senior Stephanie Stoicovy earned GWSports.com's Colonial of the Week for the second time this season after placing second in the all-around with a career-high 39.000. Stoicovy has placed on the all-around podium in each of the seasons first four meets.
Monday marks the third of five meets that will feature both the Colonials and Tar Heels this season. GW edged out UNC in the Lindsey Ferris Invitational for first place on January 13 but the Tar Heels rebounded on January 20 to finish in first place at their own tri-meet. The Colonials finished in third place in that meet, which also featured William & Mary.
