Gymnastics Team Defeats James Madison 193.375-191.350

McCalla, Mantak and Wilee sweep in all-around

Washington, DC-- The George Washington University gymnastics team defeated James Madison 193.375-191.350. Sophomore Devin McCall(Dallas, TX/JJ Pearce) led the Colonials by taking the all-around with a score of 39.150.

Sophomore Jessica Mantak(Colonia, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) finished second in the around with her personal best score of 38.650. Mantak finished first on the balance beam with a score of 9.750.

Junior Darden Wilee (Chesapeake, VA/Chesapeake) finished third in the all-around with a score of 38.275. Wilee finished the meet with a second place finish in the vault with a score of 9.700.

Sophomore Kelly Banks(Council Bluffs, IA/St. Alberts) and Junior Stephanie Goldsmith (Atlantic Beach/Lawrence) also had solid meets for GW. Banks scored a second place finish in the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.750, and Goldsmith a fourth place finish in the floor exercise with a score of 9.775.

The Colonials return to action this Sunday at the University of Rhode Island where they take on the Rams in a dual meet.
