Gymnastics Places Third at Kentucky Invitational

LEXINGTON, KY -- GW scored a team total 194.80 to place third at the four-team University of Kentucky Invitational Mar. 3 at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, KY. Florida won the meet with a 195.900 followed by Central Michigan (195.600), GW and the host Wildcats with a score of 194.175.

GW's 49.025 in the floor exercise tied Florida for top score in the event.

Sophomore Devin McCalla posted an all-around score of 39.225, third-highest among the 10 individual all-around scores. The Dallas native tied for third on the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.850. Her vault score of 9.775 and her floor exercise score of 9.825 both tied for fourth.

GW freshman Christy Gerard had a strong performance on the balance beam posting a 9.80 which tied for fourth.

Junior Darden Wilee recorded an all-around score of 38.900, good for sixth while sophomore Jessica Mantak tied for seventh in the all-around with a score of 38.875.

The Colonials host Towson Wednesday, Mar. 8 in the final home meet of the season. The meet is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Smith Center.
