Drouin-Allaire Takes Top EAGL Honor

WASHINGTON -- For the second-straight week and fourth time this season, senior co-captain Cami Drouin-Allaire has been named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week after posting the highest all-around tally in the league this season during the Colonials' two-meet weekend when they went 5-0.

On Sunday against Maryland, Rutgers, and Towson, the gymnastics squad earned a season-high 196.825 behind team scores of 49.150 on vault, 49.175 on uneven bars, 49.275 on balance beam, and 49.225 on floor exercise.

In the all-around, Drouin-Allaire broke her career-high score for the third-straight meet with a conference-high 39.600, an all-around score that ranks second in program history. The senior co-captain also finished the day on the podium in all four events while matching her season-high on vault, breaking her career-high on bars, and posting a team-high 9.900 on floor.

On Friday, at Towson with Rutgers, Drouin-Allaire also won the all-around (39.525), floor (9.900), and tied for first on beam (9.875).

The Shoreham, New York, native has broken the 39.000 threshold in the all-around seven out of nine weeks this season, and ranks first in EAGL, and 12th nationally for all-around. In addition, she sits atop the conference and sixth in the nation on vault with a 9.910 RQS.

The Colonials have also taken the top EAGL honor seven out of nine weeks of competition this season.

GW will be back in the Smith Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. to host West Virginia and EAGL rival Pittsburgh for Senior Day.
