GW Gymnastics Places 11 on All-EAGL Scholastic Team

BALTIMORE - Eleven George Washington gymnastics student-athletes were named to the 2014 All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Scholastic Team, the league office announced on Monday.

In order to be honored as a Scholastic Team member, a gymnast must be active on her school's roster as of Jan. 1, and must have maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or above. Freshmen are eligible with Fall 2013 semester grades only.

Among GW's 10 honorees is senior Brittany Doran, who concludes her career as a four-time Scholastic Team selection.

Graduate student Kayla Carto, senior Betsy Zander and juniors Kaija Aploks, Elena Corcoran, Brenna Marcoux and Courtney Willoughby each were honored for the third time in their career while sophomore Taylor Redmond and freshmen Kaitlin Cowles and Chelsea Raineri picked up their first career scholastic award.

The University of New Hampshire will play host to the 2014 East Atlantic Gymnastics League Championship this Saturday, March 23, at the Whittemore Center at 2 p.m.
