GW Gymnastics Lands 11 on EAGL All-Academic Team

DURHAM, N.C. - Eleven George Washington gymnasts were named to the 2013 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) All-Academic Team the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

In order to garner EAGL All-Academic Team honors, student-athletes must register a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.0 or higher at the end of the fall 2012 semester.

GW's 11 honorees mark the third most in the conference, with juniors Brittany Doran and Sara Halliburton each earning their third consecutive appearance on the All-Academic team, and eight gymnasts notching the honor for the second season in a row.

The University of North Carolina will play host to the 2013 EAGL Championship this Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m., at Carmichael Arena, in Chapel Hill, N.C.. All-Conference awards will be presented to the honorees at the championship banquet this Friday, March 23, at the Kenan Stadium Concourse Club on the campus of the University of North Carolina.
