Three Gymnasts Receive All-EAGL Honors

March 29, 2007

WASHINGTON, DC - Three George Washington gymnasts received awards at the 2007 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) awards banquet, held Thursday night at the University of Maryland Inn & Conference Center in College Park, MD.

Junior McKenzie Parrack received two awards, making second team All-EAGL on vault and uneven parallel bars. Freshman Christa Devine and senior Jess Guilbert also were chosen as second team All-EAGL performers on the bars and floor exercise respectively.

The Colonials are coming off a third place finish in a frive team meet at North Carolina where they scored a 193.225. Sophomore Kristen Simpson led the way for GW by finishing second on the vault with a 9.825. Freshman Christa Devine also performed well by recording a season-high, 9.775 on the beam, good for third overall, and a 9.75 on the uneven parallel bars, fifth overall.

The Colonials will compete in the 2007 EAGL Championship Friday, at 6:00 p.m. at the Comcast Center in College Park, MD. GW will look to improve their Regional Qualifying Score in order to qualify for the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship for the first time since 2002.
