Colonial Trio To Compete At Southeast Regional

March 31, 2009

RALEIGH, NC - The George Washington University women's gymnastics team will send three gymnasts to the Southeast Regional, as announced by the NCAA offices on Monday. Freshman Amanda Murphy, sophomore Leslie Delima and senior Kristen Simpson will head to Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, NC to compete in postseason competition, which is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.

Joining the trio of Colonial gymnasts will be No. 1 Georgia, the four-time defending NCAA Champions, headlines the six team field. No. 12 Penn St., No. 13 Nebraska, No. 21 West Virginia, No. 29 NC State and No. 30 North Carolina complete the field.

Simpson will be competing in the vault and floor competitions, while Delima and Murphy will be competing in the all-around competition with the six team qualifiers.
