Aiken and Wilson Compete At NCAA Gymnastics' Regional

April 5, 2004

RALEIGH, NC - The George Washington University's gymnastics team had a fantastic season, but came up just short of traveling to the NCAA's Southeast Regional as a team. However, GW was represented at the event as sophomore Erin Aiken (Centreville, VA/Chantilly) competed on the vault and junior Meagan Wilson (Lilburn, GA/Parkview) performed on the balance beam. The meet was hosted by North Carolina State on Saturday, April 3.

Aiken finished tied for 29th place on the vault with a 9.725. She had been fabulous on vault all season, including a career-high 9.950 during the Nation's Capital Cup on March 6. She averaged over a 9.800 on the apparatus for the season.

Wilson tied for 18th place in the balance beam with a 9.800. She was one of the most consistent Colonials all year and set a career high of 9.900 on February 8 at William & Mary. Wilson later matched that score at Towson on March 10.
