Gymnastics Honors Athletes At End Of Year Banquet

WASHINGTON, DC- The George Washington gymnastics team honored seven student-athletes at their annual end of year banquet on Tuesday evening.

Senior Leslie Delima was honored as the Top All-Around Performer for the 2011 season. She also was given the Most Consistent Award and earned the Starter Award for her work on the vault.

Delima concluded her standout career at GW by qualifying for NCAA Regionals for the fourth season in a row earlier this month. The senior from Virginia Beach, VA, was named to the East Atlantic Gymnastic League (EAGL) First Team on the balance beam, floor exercise and all-around after setting career highs in each event this winter.

Freshman Betsy Zander, a first team All-EAGL selection in the all-around, was honored as the team's Outstanding Rookie and also took home the Starter Award for her work on the balance beam.
