GW Gymnastics Announces 2013 Award Winners
Zander Earns Second Consecutive Lindsey Ferris Award

WASHINGTON - The George Washington gymnastics team recognized nine student-athletes at its annual end-of-the-year banquet last week.
Junior Betsy Zander earned the top honor, taking home the Lindsey Ferris Award, for the second consecutive season. The award is annually given to the GW gymnast who best exemplifies the team spirit and leadership qualities of the late gymnastics alumna. She will be formally recognized at the conclusion of next season's Lindsey Ferris Invitational.
Zander was also named the recipient of the Starter Award on the floor exercise, balance beam and uneven bars.
Senior Stephanie Stoicovy earned the Top Performer Award for the all-around after posting a team-best regional-qualifying score (RQS) of 39.060.
The Erie, Pa. native, who was named Most Valuable Player at the Second Annual Georgey Awards, also took home the Most Consistent Award. At the banquet, it was announced that moving forward the Most Consistent Award will be renamed the Stoicovy Award.
Junior Taylor Henderson took home the Coaches Award in addition to the Top Performer Award for the uneven bars. Henderson posted the top uneven bars RQS on the team with a 9.795.
