May 13, 2018

WASHINGTON – The George Washington gymnastics team will host two sessions of High Performance Camps for gymnasts in grades 6-12 at Chantilly Academy Gymnastics. The first camp is set for Saturday, July 7, while the second camp will take place on Saturday, July 28.

GW gymnastics head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham, along with assistant coaches Stephanie Stoicovy Worrell and Jason Vonk, will lead the one-day camps. Gymnasts will experience a high paced practice, filled with drills, complexes and detailed coaching for improvement of skill performance.

Camp is suggested for athletes that have competed at levels 7-10. The minimum of a level 7 skill set is recommended to successfully practice scheduled event rotations.

Each camp will take place between 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with introductions, warm-ups, and the first three of six rotations kick starting the day of activities. A lunch of sandwiches and fruit will be provided, before moving on to Colonial Games, warm ups, and the final three rotations of the day.

The camps will be open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender. Cost to participate is $250, and campers are asked to wear a leotard. Shorts/leggings are optional based on gymnast’s preference.
