Alumna Stephanie Stoicovy Worrell Joins GW Gymnastics Staff

WASHINGTON - Former George Washington gymnastics standout Stephanie Stoicovy Worrell ('13) has joined the Colonials as an assistant coach, head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham has announced.

A four-year letterwinner for the Colonials from 2010-13, Stoicovy Worrell was a two-time NCAA Regional qualifier as an individual performer (2012, 2013). She was also an All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) First Team performer on floor exercise and all-around as both a junior and senior.

"It is a dream come true to return to my alma mater as an assistant coach for George Washington gymnastics," said Stoicovy Worrell. "I am excited to bring the passion that I have for coaching and watching student-athletes succeed to this incredible program. I am honored to join Margie and Barry (Kistler, assistant coach) and contribute to this program's promising future."

In the classroom, the Erie, Pennsylvania, native was a two-time selection to the EAGL All-Academic Team and a 2013 Scholastic All-America honoree by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women (NACGC/W).

Since graduating in May 2013, Stoicovy Worrell has been a coach at Lakettes Gymnastics Academy in Erie, Pennsylvania. She graduated with a degree in exercise science and has also worked at various physical therapy clinics and hospitals as a physical therapy technician.
