GW Gymnastics Adds Ralph Rosso to Coaching Staff
Former Arizona State Assistant Coach Joins Colonials
Rosso joins the Colonials following a two-year stint at Arizona State University where he served as both an assistant coach and the interim head coach. He played a key role in the development of nine Pac-12 All-Academic Team honorees, three All-Pac-12 Team members and five NCAA Regional Individual Qualifiers during his tenure, including NCAA Regional Champion and National Qualifier Taylor Allex in 2016.
"I am so excited to welcome Ralph to our GW Gymnastics staff," said head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham. "As a former student-athlete at the University of Michigan, he understands the demands of the student-athlete here at George Washington. His technical strengths and work ethic are a welcome addition to our program."
"I am honored to have the opportunity to work alongside Margie and Stephanie and to have the privlege to work daily with the tremendous student-athletes that make up GW Gymnastics," said Rosso. "I look forward to helping our team win another EAGL Championship and continue to represent GW Gymnastics at the NCAA National level, as well as in the classroom and in the community. It is our responsibility to prepare these young adults to succeed in life and that is exactly what we will be striving for daily. I am proud to call GW home."
At Arizona State, Rosso also played a large role in logistical operations of the gymnastics program in addition to conducting the Sun Devil Gymnastics Camp for Girls.
Rosso also served as an assistant coach at Western Michigan University, where he helped develop two NCAA Regional Individual Qualifiers. He oversaw the Broncos uneven bars and vault student-athletes while providing direction, technique and spotting on all events.
Prior to his tenure at Western Michigan, Rosso also served as the team manager of the University of Arkansas gymnastics team (2011-13) and as a full-time volunteer assistant coach for the 2010 NCAA National Champion Michigan men's gymnastics team.
A four-year letterwinner at Michigan from 2006-09, Rosso was a member of the 2009 Big Ten Championship team and was an NCAA Individual Finalist in 2007. He was also a two-time Junior National Team Member (2003, 2005).
