WASHINGTON - The George Washington gymnastics team will host four meets at the Charles E. Smith Center as part of its 11-meet 2014 schedule, head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham announced on Wednesday.

GW will open the 2014 season at home by hosting the seventh annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational on Sunday, January 12. The annual meet honors the late gymnast for her vibrant spirit for life, passion for her sport and selfless dedication to the team during her time as an undergraduate student-athlete. An alumni reception will take place prior to the event before the Colonials take to the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise against Cornell, Penn and Temple at 1 p.m.

The Colonials hit the road for five of their next six meets, starting with a visit to Kent State for a quad meet with the Golden Flashes, Eastern Michigan and EAGL rival Rutgers on January 17.

After a two-week layoff, GW visits West Virginia for a quad meet against the Mountaineers and EAGL members Rutgers and Towson on Sunday, February 2.

GW returns home to Smith Center on Sunday, February 9 for the annual Brownie & Girl Scout meet against Rutgers and William & Mary.

The next evening, the Colonials make the short trip to College Park, Md., for a Monday night quad-meet against a trio of EAGL rivals in Maryland, Pittsburgh and Towson.

The following Saturday, February 15, the Colonials visit Raleigh, N.C., for a quad meet against defending EAGL champion N.C. State along with North Carolina and William & Mary.

GW next heads to Columbia, Mo., on Friday, February 21 to face Missouri.

The Colonials will host their annual Pink Meet on Monday, March 3 by welcoming EAGL rivals New Hampshire and Maryland to Smith Center for a 7 p.m. start.

The next two weekends will be spent on the road with visits to New Hampshire with Penn State and Bridgeport on Saturday, March 8, and Towson on Friday, March 15.

The Colonials conclude the regular season on Sunday, March 16 when they welcome Towson and Yale for Senior Day.

The 2014 EAGL Championships will be held on the campus of the University of New Hampshire at Lundholm Gymnasium on Saturday, March 22. Last season, the Colonials registered their best team score in program history en route to a program-best fourth-place finish.

NCAA Regionals will be held on April 6 at locations to be determined.
