WASHINGTON, DC (April 10, 2002) - Junior Jacqueline Arfaa scored four goals and added one assist to notch a team-high five points, while junior goalkeeper Lisa Pagano made 19 saves. allowing only eight scores on 27 shots by the Howard Bison, to give George Washington the 15-8 victory.

The Colonials (4-7. 0-4) charged out of the gate, taking an an early 6-0 lead just eight minutes into the contest behind two scores from Arfaa and freshman Jenny Heisler, and a goal each from freshmen Meghan McDonough and Heidi Mayer. GW would add one more score by freshmen Jamie Lee to go up 7-0 before Howard got on the board with a goal from junior Melissa Bryant nearly halfway through the first half.

The Bison suffered a devastating loss early in the first half when Howard's leading scorer Chizoba Egbuonu was ejected after receiving two consecutive yellow cards arguing a play at 21:11. Egbuonu had accounted for 40% (40-75) of the Bisons goals heading into the game. Mayer and Arfaa would each add another score before halftime giving the Colonials an 11-1 edge at the break.
