Colonials Beat By Bonnies, 19-9

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY (April 20, 2002) - The Colonials jumped out to an early 3-1 lead over St. Bonaventure, before the Bonnies scored 13 of the next 14 goals in the game putting GW in a 14-4 hole, a deficit they could not overcome, eventually falling 19-9.

Freshman Jamie Lee (Berkeley CA/ Berkeley High) led GW (4-9, 0-5) with three goals and an assist as five Colonials scored in the losing effort. Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Heidi Mayer (Havertown PA/ Haverford H.S.) scored two goals and fellow freshman Meghan McDonough (Annapolis MD/ Annapolis H.S.) netted two scores of her own. Junior Jacqueline Arrfa (Bel Air MD/ John Carroll H.S.) and freshman Lia Harris (Manhasset NY/ Manhasset H.S.) added a goal apiece to round out the scoring.

The Colonials return to action on Sunday, April 21, in a 1:00 p.m. game versus conference foe Duquesne in Pittsburgh, PA.
