PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington women's lacrosse junior Taylor Donohue earned her first Atlantic 10 Player of the Week award Monday following her near record-setting performance in Sunday's season opener against Ohio State.

Donohue set a career-high and matched the second-most goals in a game in GW program history with six in the Colonials' 14-9 loss to the Buckeyes at Mount Vernon Field Sunday. Donohue scored all three first-half goals for GW to cut Ohio State's margin to 5-3 at halftime and added three more tallies over the final nine minutes.

Her six goals marked the most for a Colonial since Kristin Karcsh scored six against Mount St. Mary's in March 2007. Laura Hostetler owns the school record with seven versus the Mount in April 2004.

Donohue, who earned an A-10 Rookie of the Week award en route to All-Rookie Team and A-10 All-Championship Team honors in 2007, now ranks 10th all-time at GW with 50 goals in 32 career games.

GW (0-1) returns to action Saturday at 1:00 pm at No. 8 Georgetown in the Hoyas' season-opener at Multi-Sport Field.
