Women's Lacrosse Begins A-10 Play at La Salle

March 14, 2005

The George Washington University women's lacrosse team (2-1) begins conference play Tuesday, March 15, as it travels to Philadelphia, PA to face La Salle University (1-2). Game time is set for 3:30 pm.

The Colonials are coming off an exciting 5-4 victory Sunday over Mount St. Mary's. Freshman Kristin Karsch scored the first goal of her career at the 45:53 mark to lift to the squad to a win at Clark Field on the campus of Gettysburg College.

GW rallied from a 4-3 halftime deficit and kept Mount St. Mary's off the scoreboard for the final 34 minutes of the game to earn the triumph.

Sophomore goalie Emily Fortunato looks to improve to 2-0 against La Salle.

The Explorers earned their first victory of the young season Friday when they defeated St. Mary's 16-9.

GW's game at La Salle will be the second of a four-game road stand. The Colonials travel to Davidson (Friday, March 18) and then Johns Hopkins (Friday, March 25) before returning home to face Towson on Wednesday, March 30 at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex.
