Lacrosse's Laura Hostetler Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington freshman Laura Hostetler (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for women's lacrosse, the league office announced Monday. It marks her second A-10 weekly honor. She also was recognized by the Conference on Mar. 2.

The 5-10 midfielder from Ellicott City, MD, scored three goals and passed out three assists in GW's 12-11 loss at California Mar. 16. Hostetler added two more goals on six shots in GW's 11-7 victory over Saint Mary's (CA) Mar. 18.

Hostetler's stats for the week: two games, five goals, five assists, 10 points, 13 shots, .385 shot percentage, 11 shots on goal, .846 SOG percentage, two groundballs and two caused turnovers.

Hostetler leads the Colonials in points with 19 and assists with seven through the first six games. She also is tied for the team lead in goals scored with 12.

GW (2-4) plays George Mason (0-2) this Wednesday in a 7:00 p.m. game at GMU Stadium in Fairfax, VA.
