Lacrosse's Bower Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC - Freshman Lauren Bower (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for women's lacrosse, the league office has announced. It marks her first A-10 weekly award.

The 5-foot-4 midfielder netted seven goals and added two assists in leading George Washington to a 4-0 week. Bower had three goals and an assist in a 19-6 victory over Stony Brook on Mar. 17 and netted a goal in a 6-5 win at Davidson on Mar. 19.

Bower also tallied two goals in the Colonials' 12-9 triumph over Le Moyne on Mar. 22 and closed out the week with a goal and and an assist in a 7-6 victory over Saint Joseph's on Mar. 23-GW's first-ever Atlantic 10 victory in women's lacrosse. Bower also had six ground balls and three caused turnovers on the week.

GW (5-2, 1-1 Atlantic 10) next plays at Mount St. Mary's Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. match at Emmitsburg, MD.
