NEWPORT NEWS, VA - George Washington women's lacrosse junior midfielder Sarah Phillips was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Monday after helping the Colonials to a split of two games last week.

Phillips, who claims her second career A-10 Player of the Week honor, matched a team-high eight points on six goals and two assists, led GW with eight ground balls and added four draws and a caused turnover in a 16-4 victory over Mount St. Mary's Monday and an 11-10 loss at Johns Hopkins Saturday.

She paced GW with six points on four goals and two assists and added four ground balls, two draws and a caused turnover against the Mountaineers. The junior midfielder then added two goals, four ground balls and two draws in a narrow loss to the Blue Jays.

Phillips is tied for third in the A-10 in assists per game (1.4) and fourth in the league in points per game (3.5). She also ranks in the Top 30 in the nation in both total points (35) and assists (14).

GW (3-7) now turns its attention to Atlantic 10 play, beginning with a home meeting against St. Bonaventure at Mount Vernon Field Saturday at 4:00 pm.
